A Stroke Play game that favors the best score while penalizing the worst. Aces and Deuces is a golf game that will keep the pressure on, even if the hole is lost.
Aces and Deuces
(Also known as [alternateNames])
HOW TO PLAY
In Aces and Deuces, there are two bets per hole. The Ace bet is awarded to the player with the lowest score on that hole and is paid by the remaining players. The Deuce bet is paid by the highest scoring player to the remaining players. Ties for either the Ace or Deuce result in no money won or lost for that bet.
VARIATIONS & PRESSES
Although the Deuce bet is typically half the Ace bet, players often adjust this amount to make the game more or less penalizing for the worst player of the day.

HOLE BY HOLE
Hole 1 – Since P1 & P3 tie the hole with the best score of par, there is no Ace bet for the hole. P4 loses the hole with a double bogey and loses the Deuce bet to the remaining three players. Assuming a $2 per point match where the Deuce bet is 1/2 a point and the Ace bet is a full point, P4 would be down $1 to each of the other three players after the first hole.
Hole 2 – P3 takes the Ace bet with the only par to win a point, but nets 1.5 points for the hole since P2 lost the Deuce bet with a double bogey on the hole.
Aces and Deuces SUMMARY
Player | Points | $$ |
---|---|---|
P1 | 2.5 | $0 |
P2 | 1 | $-12 |
P3 | 4 | $12 |
P4 | 2.5 | $0 |
FINAL NOTES
Final Payouts – Assuming a $2 per point match, P1 is even after nine holes with net zero points (+1.5 -1.5 +0).
